About the Speaker
Mike Eastaway, Training Manager, AFMA
Mike is an experienced Financial Markets professional having been actively and continually involved in many aspects of the Global OTC Wholesale Financial Markets for over 30 years commencing 1977.
Through his experiences Mike has gained intimate knowledge of the workings of all Financial Markets through wholesale trading in large International Banks Globally and possesses a unique understanding of the risks associated with trading and settling of financial transactions. Mike has worked for many large Global Banks in positions from Jnr Dealer to Snr Manager Trading. He has had first hand experience in all aspects of Dealing and running large Trading Portfolios which in return produced consistent financial income for his employers over some 30 years.
Mike has always been involved with market Industry bodies and has been active in producing and delivering Educational Seminars and Courses aimed at training dealers in his local market and over the last 7 years in the International market place.
After 30 years of Trading Mike embarked on a different career and now is a full time trainer in the Financial Services arena both domestically and internationally.

This module examines the foreign exchange market and how its products are used for trading; risk management and speculation.
What will you learn?
By the end of the module you'll have a good understanding of:
- the foreign exchange market
- spot foreign exchange
- forward foreign exchange
- futures and CFDs
- options
- trading strategies for foreign exchange markets
- providing advice in foreign exchange.
Workload
The estimated workload for this module includes:
- four-and-a-half hours of workshop attendance (optional);
- 10-20 hours of suggested self study;
- completion of the skills assessment; and
- the final exam.
Assessment
There are two assessment components for the Foreign Exchange Markets Module:
- Exam. This is a 90-minute online exam with 50 MCQ's.

Skills assessment. An evidence-based skills assessment via the ePortfolio system.
What you receive by completing this module
You will be awarded a Statement of Attainment when this module is successfully completed, as partial completion of the Diploma of Financial Markets FNS51011. If you have previously completed the Core Module, you will then be awarded the full Diploma of Financial Markets. Please note that there are pre-requisite units of competency contained within the Core Module that must first be obtained (either with AFMA or another Training Provider) before receiving the Statement of Attainment.
